The Tierrasanta Seventh-day Adventist Church exists to further Christ’s message of the kingdom of God: that it is primarily a matter of the heart, that its emphasis is that God is love, and that it is manifested by our respect, compassion and mercy for others.
A Little Bit About Us

The Tierrasanta Church traces its roots all the way back to 1888, when the “G Street” Church, the first Seventh-day Adventist Church in San Diego, was organized. A few years later the “University Heights” SDA Church was formed. These two San Diego churches form our historic bedrock.

With the passing of time, the “G Street” Church became the “Broadway” SDA Church, and the “University Heights” Church became the “North Park” SDA Church. In 1985 these two churches merged together to form the “San Diego Central” SDA Church. It was in 1991 that the “Central” Church relocated here in Tierrasanta, and our campus was dedicated in September of that year.

At this point in our experience, we are aware that organized religion has not always been a blessing for everyone. The love of God and love for one’s neighbor has not always been central in every church. Therefore our mission is to create an environment where each worshipper can learn, grow, and experience God in a comfortable setting that encourages religious freedom and joy.

Our mission also includes the accomplishment of this ideal from an Adventist perspective. We believe that there are doctrinal and practical benefits that our heritage brings to the ecclesiastical table. But we do not hold the position that Adventism is the only way to experience the kingdom of God in ones life. We only pray that here, in this place, you will find a religious community that nurtures your soul. And may God bless us all on this most sacred journey.
