WE BEGIN A NEW SERMON SERIES TODAY titled “Jesus & the Apocalypse.” There is currently a renewed enthusiasm and alarm about the end of time. Many believe that we are living in the real last days of earth’s history, and that the second coming of Christ is right around the corner. Adventism was—and is—an apocalyptic movement. What shall we do now (how should we then live)? And what would Jesus of Nazareth say about all this? We hope that you are enlightened and comforted by this series of sermons.

DR. MILTON FREDRICKSEN passed away on Sabbath, April 20, at the age of 98. Milt was a beloved leader and member of our Church family for decades. He was Head Elder, a member of the Pastoral Search Committee that interviewed Pastor Gary for the job, and Chair of the Building Committee that oversaw the architectural planning and construction of our Sanctuary Complex. Milt was known throughout the San Diego Adventist community as a passionate spiritual voice and as a terrific OBGYN. Please continue to keep his wife, Carol, and the entire family in your prayers as they mourn the loss of this most loving and consequential man. A memorial service is pending and we will keep you updated as information becomes available.
MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER REQUESTS (SECOND READING) have been made by the following individuals: Jean Du wishes to transfer her membership to our Church from the San Diego Clairemont SDA Church. Todd Shively wishes to transfer his membership to the Virginia Beach SDA Church.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS who are interested in forming a new second Sabbath breakfast team. We are also looking for one or two volunteers to join the existing 4th Sabbath breakfast team. If you are interested and would like more information, please talk to Pastor Gary after today’s service.
