OUR CURRENT SERMON SERIES, ISRAEL’S TEACHER, continues today by looking at how Jesus approached the end of his life. What would you do and say if you knew you only had a couple of weeks left to live? How do we handle days of stress and anxiety? Are you worried about what the future holds for yourself, or for our society? May we all be comforted by today’s message.

TEEN SABBATH will be held next Sabbath, October 5, at 11:00 am in the Youth Room. Although we were expecting to go apple picking after church, we were informed that this was a bad year for apples in Julian and there are none left! Instead, next Sabbath, we will fellowship in the Youth room at 11:00 am and then head to Glorietta Bay Park on Coronado for a picnic and bike ride.

JOIN US ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12, AT 6:00 PM for a chili cook-off and square dancing in the fellowship hall! The evening will begin with a short sunset devotional followed by a delicious chili dinner. Then, prepare to dust off your dancing shoes as we all learn to square dance from a professional square dance caller. If you would like to participate in the chili cook-off by bringing your own dish, please fill out a sign-up form and place it in the box in the foyer. “Best dressed” prizes will also be given out to those who show up in their best western attire!

OUR SHELTER MINISTRY IS COLLECTING DONATIONS of “business clothes” for women living in the South Bay shelter to wear to upcoming job interviews. If you have any business clothes you would like to donate, please contact the Church office.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS interested in helping at the breakfast bar on either the second or fifth Sabbath of each month. Sign-ups are located in our foyer.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE TITHES AND OFFERINGS, you may do so in person by dropping your offering into the offering box in the foyer, placing your offering in a collection plate as you exit the sanctuary, or contribute online via our church website.
