WE CONTINUE OUR SERMON SERIES TODAY on the subject of demons (or demonology). Today we will look at the fantastic and heartwarming story of the healing of the demoniacs of Gadara. This is the one time, recorded in the Gospels, that Jesus is said to have traveled to a Gentile region (out of Israel proper). Of the 6 recorded instances of Jesus having an encounter with demons, this one is the most memorable, and is given the most extensive space. How do we deal with the demons in our own lives? Can we relate to this story?
TEEN SABBATH RETURNS TODAY AT 11:00 AM in the Youth Room. On the first Sabbath of each month during the school year, this group for 12–17-year-olds meets to worship, potluck with one another, and enjoy activities that lead to lasting memories and friendships. After the worship service today, the group will head to Mission Bay for an afternoon of fun.
PLEASE KEEP ROBERT CERMAK IN YOUR PRAYERS. Just over a week ago, Rob was in a bike accident and suffered a fractured cheekbone, multiple lacerations to his face, a lacerated kidney, a broken ulnar radius of his right arm, and multiple bruises all over his body. He is recovering at home now; however, in the coming weeks and months, he will have to undergo multiple surgeries. Robert and his family appreciate your prayers and support.
