WE HAVE JUST BEGIN A NEW SERMON SERIES TITLED “The Hebrew Prophets.” Today we will look at the first of the writing prophets in the Old Testament. Why do scholars believe that the first 39 chapters and the final 27 chapters are written by two different authors? Why did George Fredrick Handel use the second half of Isaiah so much when he wrote his oratorio “The Messiah?” Why does Isaiah say that in the New Heaven and the New Earth we will all die? And why are we comforted by so much of Isaiah’s prophecy? We hope you enjoy this new series.
